The New Jewish Home – Bronx, NY

This is a relocation and consolidation of two smaller programs for seniors in Westchester and in NYC to one site in the Bronx. This new state of the art center opened in April 2018.
With 45,000 square feet for a construction cost of $5.1 million, the new center occupies a large first floor with a second floor for home care offices, finance, accounting and training for The New Jewish Home.
There are day, afternoon and evening programs for its 130 registrants. The full array of activities includes four dining venues, physical and occupational therapy, computer classrooms, library, arts and crafts, and interior garden therapy. There are also exam and treatment areas, and a personal laundry. There are many choices within the daily circuit.
Another unit within the unit is a memory care center which includes dining, activities and instruction within its own domain.
Finally, there is a rest area with alcoves for private, brief respite where it is quiet.
