City of Batavia-Space Needs Study for the Police

The City Of Batavia is assessing whether their former City Hall/George Brisbane Residence (1853) can be renovated to serve the functional needs of their large police department. In a landmark historic district designated nationally in 1982 and locally in 2000, this Italianate villa has had at least two past additions. To enable the space program being developed in 2014 and to meet the standards of an appropriate renovation and new addition, at least one of the older additions will likely be removed. There are to be several internal modifications to enable this interesting building to achieve public longevity and full functionality.

The City will make a decision on the feasibility: to retain the police in the historic civic center or to move them away to a new facility.
