Metropolitan Jewish Health System-Muriel and Harold Block Residence

The Muriel and Harold Block Residence is one of the first hospice residences in New York City. It includes sixteen apartments and community spaces. It occupies the 12th floor of an existing apartment house on the Jewish Home and Hospital Campus. It has been entirely reconstructed as a state-of-the-art residence for end of life care. It opened for residents in June of 2012.

Each apartment has its own kitchen and bathroom. There is a family dining room, a family lounge and family library. There are also staff and conference facilities. A centerpiece is a bathing spa with a skylight and massage area.

Under the auspices of the Metropolitan Jewish Health System, this project was already the recipient of a design award and regional attention.
