Middlebury Senior Housing-Woodside Heights

This seventy unit senior housing community is the first phase of a 58 acre campus for the aging in Middlebury, CT. This independent living center also includes a central commons This is the first setting in the town designed exclusively for aging. A joint enterprise of the town purchased the land exclusively for this purpose, and New Samaritan, non-profit corporation. The center will ultimately include a wide array of housing alternatives on the lovely hillside site. Alongside Straw Pond, this first phase offers adaptable one bedroom units.

The pair of two story residences of 38 and 39 units frame a one story commons. All common facilities (dining and meeting rooms) face Straw Pond and a patio on the south edge of the pond. The building is wood frame construction with shingle cladding.
