Located in the historic district of Southport, Connecticut, Trinity Church’s 110 student nursery school was inundated by Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. Reconstruction included structural stabilization, shoring and complete restoration of 9500 square feet with design and construction together completed in nine months. The plan received approval from the Historic District Commission.
There are nine (9) classrooms, central office, nurse office and support in this ground floor 1959-1965 structure. All of the interesting details are created for young children with many flood prevention safeguards.
The project has received design recognition.
